Daemonettes over time

Taking a walk down the Slaanesh history, we can view the Daemonettes.

Back in the 80s and 90s (around 2nd edition 40k) we had Metal Daemonettes. They were mono-pose and difficult to model them differently, but a great start to Daemonettes.

They are very cool, had unique names and showed the “Mutations” that were in the Lost and the Damned (tentacle arms). What is interesting is they had tails back then.

To me, they were based on the “Eldar” souls they had consumed and were indicative of consuming the Eldar on their maiden worlds. They were therefore lightly armored, more elf-like, and uniquely mutated.

But of course there is Suckflesh and Lewdbeast the mohawk Daemons. My favorites.

Here they are with the Bloodletters from Realms Of Chaos

Then we got the “giant crab claw” version. A bit less lithe, more human-bodied vs Eldar bodied of the first generation. We lost our mohawks!

We also got mounted Daemonttes! The bodies carried over and there were some options (limited in the metal casts). The steeds were pretty cool, and showed their litheness. Still now mohawks.

Then 3rd and 4th editions came along, and the daemonettes got more lithe. They kind of missed the whole Slaanesh 1/2 male, 1/2 Female ascetic, but were now cool. They were a pain to assemble as where the arm attached to to the body was a very small point, and super glue didn’t always work. Had to add in some binding.

Metal again, they were pretty damn sexy.

Then we have a refresh again!

Now we have the best of all worlds. The Age of Sigmar has brought Daemons alive!

Large claws, 1/2 and 1/2s, Eldar like bodies, mohawks and more!

I have built some of each generation, and here are my latest ones.

Echild or Echild07 or Refuse has been playing Slaanesh, Emperor's Children and Imperial Fists since the 80s! Loved the imagery and dichotomy in the "lost and the damned" books and love the pride and pain aspects of Imperial Fists and Emperor's Children.
